Campaign in Review: Kiwibank’s Gumboot Up

KiwiBank is donating $100,000 to the I AM HOPE organisation’s Gumboot Friday initiative, as part of a viral Facebook campaign pledging to donate $1 for every Kiwi who added the New Zealander of the Year #GumbootUp frame to Facebook profile picture. $100,000 is a an amazing donation to any charitable cause, and we’re excited for all the good work that I AM HOPE is going to be able to do. But why are so many Kiwis disappointed with the donation, and calling on KiwiBank to donate even more?

The Next Step

In 2017, we're changing up what we're doing here (a whole lot). Not because we're not proud of how Step Changers works now, but because we want this project to have more of a tangible impact. We still want to inspire businesses to do more for social good - but this time around, we want to make it easy for them to do more too.

On getting started

Often though, there is no middle ground for these thinkers. The ranters get nowhere, and so we expect change to be made by the very few. Because of our place on the career ladder or because of the industry we're in, we forget that it's our place to challenge the status quo too.
