Sustainability doesn't have to be taboo
Coffee blenders Josie, Carrie and Geoff are advocates for doing your bit. Their roastery based in Tauranga, New Zealand uses some of its daily sales to drive social good. By asking customers to switch to their line of 'good coffee' or making a donation in store, the team effectively turn coffee into water for families in Cambodia, by giving a percentage of each sale to the building of wells with Good Trust, their project partner. The water is used for drinking, agriculture and for around the home; giving at need families a chance to grow their income and stay healthy. Not just an added extra for Excelso, this work is a part of their daily conversation with their customers. They're not afraid to challenge 'why' for profit businesses are generally content with not doing anything - and their customers love them for it.
